Six Month Check Up

Yesterday was Cade's six month check up. All is well I am happy to report. Cade is 19 pounds 9 ounces and 27 1/2 inches long. He also received FOUR shots. As horrible as four shots are, the nurse is wonderful when she gives them. She is SUPER fast. I held his arms and recited the Five Little Pumpkins as she injected two into each leg. He only cried until I got to hold him. He then gave the nurse an evil stare...as long as it was her and not me.
After we left the office we drove around for quite a while for him to get his nap out, as we were also suppose to attend Trunk or Treat. We knew we wouldn't able to stay long, but still wanted to make an appearance. Everyone loved Baby Spiderman. Soon all the cars were set and treaters were arriving. While things weren't too busy Uncle Ivan sat down to play his guitar for a bit. Cade LOVES when Uncle Ivan sings to him. Again he only lasted about an hour before he began to get fussy. He was hungry and sore, poor little thing.
It is good to know Cade is developing well and things are in order. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful life.

Trick or Treat

We headed to Beth's for trick or treat. He had a bottle right before we left, so we headed out with a full belly. He loved being around all those kids. He just looked around with wonder while he sat in his stroller. He lasted a little over an hour then the three of us headed back while the Manesses finished their rounds. Below are a few pictures of Cade and her two children.

Cade getting ready to go trick or treating!

Blake LOVES Cade,
We knew we HAD to go with him.

6 Months (and 1 day)

I know, I'm a little late posting...yesterday was a little busy though. We are six months into a lifetime. I am somewhat speechless. Over the last week and a half Cade has had two teeth come through. He's also trying to pull himself up, and his personality is really beginning to shine. Cade is almost all smiles all the time (just don't delay in getting the food ready-then there are no smiles.) We are still waiting to get that picture of his teeth, his tongue is just too amazed by them and is always rubbing them.
Tonight is Trick or Treat... Tomorrow is his Six Month checkup along with Trunk or Treat at church.

Blog #60, 174 Days Old

Today was the day...
His first tooth arrived!
Grandma saw it while changing his diaper. He thinks diaper changing is funny, so with his gigantic grin there it was shining through. We of course have no pictures yet, his tongue manages to get in the way every time we try peaking in.
As soon as we can pin him down, get a grin OR get his tongue out of the way the pictures will be posted...
He won't be chewing on my finger any time soon!

It Was a GREAT GREAT Kind of Weekend

What a GREAT GREAT weekend! We took a short trip to Columbus to visit the Greats.
Two goals:
Visit Great Aunt Ann & Uncle Jim
Visit the Buckeye Corner
We had lots more things that we wanted to do, but we only had so much time. We got up as early as Cade wanted to, 5:45 ate breakfast, Daddy & Cade helped Grandpa move some stuff for Grandma's church's rummage sale, then we were off for our first big adventure. Of course Cade (and Daddy) had to be in pure Ohio State gear.
Cade did very well for his first trip. He only fussed once for a bottle, but really he needed a booty change. This was two hours in, what a piece of cake! I swear we have the best baby in the world.
We stopped at Golfsmith, Dicks Sporting Good & Old Navy along the way. Also a quick bite to eat. We were goofing off with Daddy's cell phone, here are some pictures.

We finally made it to Aunt Ann's and Uncle Jim's. Good thing we were all in our Ohio State gear, they were too. (Of course so was all of Columbus or Ohio I should say.) Go Buckeyes!

Aunt Ann was lovin' her some Cade.
Aunt Ann and Uncle Jim are so great. Knowing Cade isn't spoiled by anyone at home, they just had too. Cade ended up with a whole new ensemble along with a jersey. Woo Hoo, don't worry there will be pictures soon, I'm sure. We then headed over to Cade's Great Great Aunt Marguerite's. She was so excited she met us at the elevator. Walking in the hallway she was grabbing for Cade, but as soon as she got him, I thought she was going to fall over! She proclaimed he might be a tad too heavy for her, and it didn't help he was squirmy, keep in mind she is in her 80's. She loved him, she also told him that Jim Tressel needed to meet him, he already looked big enough to play football. She was great! Along with a lot of other things, it was a little bittersweet. He was getting to meet his great-great aunt, but still hasn't been able to meet his great grandparents in Florida. (COME HOME GRANDPA & GRANDMA, WE LOVE YOU)

Aunt Marguerite disappeared in the back for a few minutes, then returned carrying a teeny tiny rocking chair and a teddy bear. She shared with us that her mother use to put her in that chair while she did laundry. Having pictures from then on with all the family, she said she needed one with Cade in it. It fit him perfectly and he loved it! Uncle Clifford received the teddy bear when he had his heart attack and since Cade played with it and loved it, she gave it to him. How exciting and special!

Aunt Marguerite had plans to watch the game down their social area, and we weregetting hungry. So we gave lots of hugs and said good-bye. After dinner we finished watching the game at Aunt Ann's.

"Is all this bed for me? I'll take it!"

All in all everything was wonderful. We had absolutely no problems. We are so blessed. Cade slept all the way home. It did seem like it took FOREVER to get home, but it always does.
