Saying Goodbye

For the first six months Cade was here, he grew quickly. He was constantly growing out of clothes. I had a few bins conveniently placed under his crib as I put away his clean clothes I would throw what he had grown out of in a bin. Between six and eight months Cade slow his growth rate. He was actually getting to wear his clothes on more than one or two occasions. Cade hit his eight months and started rapid growing again. His adorable, cutesy, two piece Carter's are now becoming high waters. They are shrinking! Not really Cade is just becoming a big boy, not a baby. That phrase just keeps reappearing in my blogs. If you can't tell, I'm a little sad to see my baby go. Don't get me wrong I love growing with Cade, seeing his personality shine, watching him learn new things, playing with toys- its the best. I just can't believe how quickly time has passed. He is quickly passing the baby clothes, we have to look in the toddler department now. This also means the clothes aren't so cutesy they are big boy clothes: jeans and tee shirts, khakis and button ups. Gone are the matching knit outfits that look so comfy I want a set in my size, matching blankets and onesies, comfy one piece sleepers- gone.
I've been avoiding the issue. Ignoring the elephant in the room, wait I mean the pile of clothes in the corner. Dodging the pyramid of maturity. Soooo.... Today was the day. I started separating onesies in one drawer, sleepers in another, clothes too small go into the bin... As the bin began to overflow I grew sadder and sadder, "But I love this outfit," I exclaimed, "Maybe one last time," trying to convince myself, but they had their one last time. I threw on my favorite striped pants and let him nap in them. That's it, when we leave today he'll be changed and they'll go in the bin. I have to say good-bye.

GOOD-BYE!

Nine Month-Thursday Round Up

Today Cade is nine months old. We waited nine months to meet him, and now he has been with us nine months. Nine months of developing in the womb to be a baby, now nine months turn into a little boy-not a baby. It is still amazing to me that 18 months ago he wasn't here, what did we do with out him? What did we do before he came? Did we ever smile this much before? Nine months of waiting and nine months of living.
This week has been a wonderful week. Over the weekend Aunt Ann and Uncle Jim came to visit. Cade really enjoyed playing with Aunt Ann. Since then it has been a plain week. Joe stayed home two days this week, Cade loved that...so did Joe! Of course one of those days Joe was scheduled for an ultra sound. It looks as though he has multiple gallstones and will need his gall bladder removed. So we aren't looking forward to that, but looking forward to him feeling better.
Here are a few photos from the week!

OutTakes

So yes I admit it, my child is the cutest thing on earth. He is constantly making me laugh and everyone else for that matter. In this day and age usually when one takes a picture, one simply deletes it. I do as well...most of the time. The following pictures didn't get deleted, won't get deleted and crack me up when I click through the last few months of my life on the computer.

look closely at the pic below, you can see his spit as he's sneezing!

Still not giving up

1 Year 100 Posts, 100 Days to 1 Year

One year ago today I posted my first blog, "100 Days to Go." I remember opening up one of my pregnancy newsletters, I religiously checked every week for new baby developments, and seeing I had 100 days left. At the time I didn't know how right that was. Due dates are estimated by ultra sounds, or forty weeks gestation, but babies come when they want. One year ago our excitement couldn't be contained. One year ago Cade was kicking in my belly. One year ago I had 100 days till my baby boy was born. In that one year I have posted 100 blogs. One hundred blogs about something that started a couple of ounces to now be over twenty pounds. One hundred blogs about something not tangible to now being a 'waller' monster, crawling machine. One Year. One hundred blogs.
As said earlier we didn't realize how true 100 days was. That means since Cade decided to come on his due date- we have one hundred days till his one year birthday. One hundred days and he officially isn't a baby any more. He'll be one! He'll be a walking talking toddler, not a baby. His one year of huge developments will stop. Of course he'll continue to grow and learn new things... but right now he is learning EVERYTHING. We watched him learn to hold his head up, learn to roll over, learn to sit up, learn to eat food, learn to stand and crawl- and soon he'll be walking. Sure he'll still be learning, but not at the pace he's learned so far.

For now though I have 100 days to enjoy every first. We still have first Valentine's, St Patrick's and Easter. I'm positive his first step will be in there too. To be literal this is his first January 18th.
Over the last year and one hundred posts our family has truly been blessed. I had an easy pregnancy, and even toward the end with all the extra tests and appointments God still took care of us. Cade, his health, and personality are welcomed blessings. My posts regarding the overflow of love and gifts from our friends and family still remain true and we are still showered with all.
So this is my 100th post on my "blogaversary."
So starts the 100 day countdown to Cade's birthday.

the best smile ever!

Thanks for joining our journey.
We can't wait for post 200, who knows what excitement it will hold!
I hope this blog is as much a joy to you as it is to us.

Thursday-oops-Friday Round Up

After Joe, Cade & I ate supper this evening, I realized I hadn't posted a Thursday Round Up and it was Friday! My "schedule" changed yesterday, I say schedule loosely- being unemployed with a baby there is no schedule. I had made plans for Thursday mornings that have to do with this:

That's as much as I'm saying about that for now, but its my new Thursday gig. Anyway on with the story. Because of my "meeting" Cade was at Grandma's where I stole some left over birthday pizza for lunch at 2:30! I was starved, anyway on with the excuse, oh I mean story. By the time we made it home from there and waited to go eat for Tab's birthday, Cade was getting FUSSY. Afterwards, off to Grandpa A's, where Cade was MORE FUSSY! So this is my reason for not doing a Thursday round up till Friday:

Since the beginning of the year we have had a wonderful blanket of snow. By last Friday, I believe Cade was starting to notice something was going on, I guess being pelted by the HUGE snowflakes will do that to a baby. We've had plenty of snow, but this was the first we put him in. So with four layers on (it was only about 1o degrees out) we ventured to the backyard for his Kodak moment.

This is how we spent the rest of the week:

Sunday

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Friday

I skipped Thursday, but I'll give you a replay now:

January 13th

We spent the evening at Grandma & Grandpa's for Kristi's birthday. We had pizza and GIANT cupcakes. YUMMY- Cade loved both (so did I), especially the cupcake (me too), not so much the icing (goes for me as well) as you can below. You'll have to pardon the "glow" on the photos...Someone's fingerprint was on the lens and I had no idea.

Love my train
