One Year Ago Today

One year ago today I got to meet this sweet two day old.

Today she is the birthday party princess.

Our family is so blessed to have them now living so close.
It was very nice to share pregnancy with a best friend. Now it is nice to share play dates.

And I believe she has started a tradition. The tradition of fall. Last year her parents anxiously drove to the hospital to meet her wearing shorts and t-shirts. They left two days later shivering in a cool fall shower. Just yesterday Hillary and I set up for a rummage sale, burning up...Today a cool fall shower, bringing sadness to Hillary who hates to say good-bye to summer. Me, I greet fall with a hug.

Quick Pic

He loves to brush his teeth, but hates to wash his hair.
Guess we can't have it all.

as quick as I tried to make this pic,
I still had to attempt to fade out my grody bath tub

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday we headed to Barboursville for football! Joe's niece, Mykenzie, is a new cheerleader, and I finally had time off at the same time as one of her games. Yay! Cade was so excited, he could hardly contain himself. He kept running on to the field, up and down the field, any where he could run.

Here he is doing some cheering of his own:
Luckily for us, Noah plays football for the same team Kenzie does. (For those on the Sullivan side or just have no clue, here's a brief: Noah belongs to Jennifer; Jennifer belongs to Aunt Mary; Aunt Mary, as in Grandma's sister **love them**) Here is the only photo I got of Noah.

Kenzie, "Go Pirates!"
Too keep from the stop and go's back to the truck, Cade ended up on Daddy's shoulders.
CUTE!
Hillary was having a rummage sale so we decided to surprise her with lunch. A small trip means a sleeping Cade. Luckily for us London was sleeping when we got there. They napped together while we lunched.
Can't resist posting a photo of this sweet thing:

No matter how many times he tries, he never remembers he doesn't like her pacifier:

Picture Perfect

Lesson Learned:
Just because one is using an awesome camera does not mean...
(a) one will have it in focus
(b) that one's subject will participate
(c) backgrounds will cooperate
(d) one's subject won't nap but for 10 minutes even between visiting two parks

We didn't have much on the agenda for the holiday. I borrowed Aunt Kristi's camera to see how I liked it. Of course I did, but need a TON of practice with it. For now I'll stick to my point and shoot.

Happy Birthday Daddy & the Bucks Take the Herd

Wednesday was Daddy's birthday and his only request was to stay home. Unfortunately I had to work later than him, so his birthday dinner he decided he would pick up for us. He chose Midway, yummy. Here's a photo of Daddy sharing his BBQ:

Thursday was the big game! We were dying to go, but schedules wouldn't allow. Joe's best friend invited us over to watch the game (not our only invite, but we went with tradition.) Funny thing, he didn't realize till after he watched the news that it wasn't going to be broadcast on any of our stations. He quickly called the cable company and had that channel added. We made a quick visit for our usual Thursday night to Grandpa Asbury's then off to Matt's. Here are a few pictures of Cade and his intimidation.

You can see his faux hawk lasted the evening. We loved it.
