Proof!

Here he is just barely reaching it...

And now,
He has it.

And this,
This is his, "No Paparazzi!"

By the way, it is five hours later...
He is still playing with that exact truck.

Growing Up

I usually mention not much has happened in during the last week. And yet again I could say the same thing. Could. I noticed something today though...
Cade likes to play with his trucks. He likes to play with them everywhere. He especially likes to play with them on the couch. Usually he just rolls the back and forth, making noises as they go. Sometimes he gets a little involved and the trucks end up at the back of the couch. He grunts and climbs, but mostly he can't reach them. Therefore he gets you to get it or whines a little until someone retrieves them for him. Today I saw him get on his tip toes and get them himself. Sure it was his tip toes, but that's what it was just last week when he couldn't reach them. Though I attempted to weigh him last night (you try it with a 14 month old), it still stated he only weighed 24 or 25 pounds. So though I know he may weigh 25 pounds, I believe it to be a tad more. More importantly I know he is growing. Growing out of his clothes. Growing to now being able to reach the back of the couch. This week Kristi and I decided to have a rummage sale. Earlier in the week I went through ALL of Cade's smaller clothes. Only keeping half a box from at least five boxes worth. I ended up keeping more of his newborn clothes than of his bigger ones. Who can resist those teeny tiny cutsie baby garments? I tried not to linger as I was sorting today to price. I did hesitate a little as I went threw the newborn onesies into the bin. Just the white ones. Those cute little long sleeve ones with the mittens on the end (to keep baby from scratching his face).

I digress...

Cross your fingers. Our rummage sale is tomorrow!

Summertime Fun at Nanny Mary's

Every Monday or Tuesday we can be found at Mike and Mary's house for supper. Nanny Mary has been dying to break out the water toys. So tonight we went prepared. The water was a little chilly at first, which any of us would have enjoyed...Cade, not so much. He got use to it quick though and had an awesome evening.

So, yeah, Its Been a While

We haven't had a great deal go on in the last week. Cade is active as ever, running around like the happiest boy on the planet. This is camera phone photo from Friday night. All cleaned up in his doctor pj's.

Saturday wasn't so great. Active Cade decided to make his way off our bed as I was trying to change his diaper and clothes...make his way as in head first. With a knot the size of a ping pong ball we weren't exactly sure what to do. We did admittedly go to the ER, but after thirty minutes of waiting, the swelling going down quickly and an obviously not so hurt Cade we decided there was no point in waiting to be seen. All is well now, he has a nice bruise hidden by his hair. Here is a photo from my phone, it honestly does not do his trauma any justice.

I'll take a bunch of photos in the next few days and
I'll try to make something exciting happen (other than falling off the bed)

We're Home

This time last week I was finishing laundry to head to Florida. Now I'm finishing laundry after returning from Florida. I feel of course like I didn't get enough time with everyone, but I would feel like that if we spent two weeks or a month there. A good part of our trip was spent in the vehicle. A plus to this was we got to spend more time with Unc and Aunt Kristi.
It was an emotional trip and visit. It was long, but short at the same time. It was bittersweet.
Here are a few more photos commemorating our trip.

Early Pool Time
Cade loved every minute in the pool. We called Grandpa to come visit. Though once Cade saw him, visiting wasn't good enough...Grandpa had to get in too.

Beach Photos

Back in "1 Year 100 Posts" I was growing sad of running out of firsts. We've since experienced first steps, first birthday and lots more. Today Cade has his first trip to the beach. He was attached to Joe's ankle and calf for the first five minutes, but I got his clothes changed and the story changed. I rubbed his sunscreen in and off he went. I put away a few things, snapped a few photos of the scenery and turned to get one of Cade and Daddy and he was across the beach. He was in his own little world, where he could just keep going and going. We let him. He's had a rough couple of days. We steered him toward the gulf to get into the water. That lasted all of twenty seconds. The waves were a little loud and he had places to go...far away. He continued to walk and walk. Sometimes he stop for a shell, sometimes he'd sit to play and feel the sand, but mostly he walked. It was wonderful. We watched the sun disappear, packed up and watched Cade's eyes disappear. His day had been long and no where near nappy enough.
We started the day with a send off to Great Grandma and ended a day with a send off to the sun. We have plenty more to say and plenty more photos to share, but for now we'll leave you with these.
