A Long Hiatus

I unfortunately have been very busy with work and very tired on top of that.
I know it isn't much of an excuse,
but to make up for it I'll try to post something everyday this week.

My "last" blog was Halloween. It was real success, mostly. I was very undecided this year on a Halloween costume. Great Grandpa was suppose to be here on trick or treat night, so I didn't want to get too caught up in Halloween. BUT I didn't want to get some generic looking costume from Wal*Mart or Target. Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting down their costumes, but try looking at their toddler costumes sometimes- blah. I feel like dressing up is for him, to be something he wants to be. Sure it would be great to dress him up as Yoda, an ewok, a scarecrow, the tin man or anything Daddy and I love. I wanted it to be for him though. That Wednesday, the day before trick or treat, we still hadn't come to a decision. Beth to the rescue! She still had Blake's costume from a few years ago and it was perfect. It was a little small, but perfect. We went to London's to trick or treat, but all he really did was run up and down the street. The only candy he accumulated was the pixie stick he stole from the Gore's and broke open.

Since Great Grandpa had been a little under the weather we decided to visit him in Columbus. We had such a great time being with everyone. It almost felt like Christmas.
Right before Halloween I got to have an ultra sound. As of now, November 8, I am 12 weeks along. When this week is through I'll be through my first trimester. Yippee!! Since the ultra sound I've already seen the doctor again. Everything is going well. At my last visit I actually had to have another ultra sound. The doctor was having a little trouble pinpointing the heart beat with the doppler. It wasn't anything to worry about, he just couldn't hold the beats for long enough to count. He pinned the baby down, laughed about how active it was and showed me the heartbeat on the screen. I've scanned the photo and attempted to outline the focal points. The yellow is the baby's head, the red are the arms and green is the body. The cord is also visible, but working with a laptop mouse isn't easy to outline an image that's only sorta kinda there.

  1. Hi Barb, Joe and Cade, Great pictures of Great Grandpa and Grandpa with Cade! We were so glad you were able to come for a visit! We all enjoyed it! We had a good weekend. I had to work on Saturday. Jim's good friend from Texas came in for a visit. We went out to Barley's for dinner. Church on Sunday and to the park with Angel. Take Care! God Bless! Love Aunt Ann and Uncle Jim.
